CHAREESE
STEINHOFF
Production Designer
I’m a Toronto-based production designer and member of the Directors Guild of Canada, my work spans independent film, television, commercial, and music videos. My recent work includes the award-winning documentary Modern Whore (tiff - 2025), directed by long time collaborator Nicole Bazuin and executive produced by Sean Baker, Hell of a Summer (tiff - 2023), directed by Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk, produced by Jason Bateman, The Ugly Chickens (Hollywood ShortsFest - 2024), directed by Mark Raso and produced by George R. R. Martin, and the series We’re All Gonna Die (Even Jay Baruchel) (Bell Media - 2024), created by and starring Jay Baruchel.
Alongside my narrative work, I have designed commercial campaigns for Wealthsimple and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, created the standing sets for CBC’s Q with Tom Power, and designed music videos for artists including Alexisonfire and Orville Peck. Drawing on a degree in Interior Design & Technologies, I approach production design through structure and atmosphere, building environments that feel tactile, idiosyncratic, and deeply lived-in. I’m drawn to storytelling through space and shaping character through the objects that inhabit it; building worlds audiences can disappear into and linger in a little longer.
Howdy!
